The new Israeli bill allowing for the execution of criminals “in terrorist circumstances” is progressing its way through the Knesset. In a previous post, I discussed the potential repercussions of using capital punishment in the Israeli legal system and how it might affect the Arab minority. The current post will use a comparative approach to discuss each nation’s history of the death penalty, dedication to human rights, legal policies and international commitments against capital punishment.
