Robsoncrim.com Welcomes Steven Bittle

Our team of collaborators continues to grow here at Robsoncrim.com. We want your input as we foster an open and informative discussion and debate about current issues in the criminal law, criminal justice, criminology and justice policy more generally. We are very pleased to welcome Steven to join us in this mission.

Steven Bittle is an Associate Professor in the Department of Criminology, University of Ottawa. His research interests include corporate crime, crimes of the powerful and the sociology of law. He is the author of Still Dying for a Living: Corporate Criminal Liability after the Westray Mine Disaster (2012, UBC Press), which was awarded the 2014 publication of the year by the National White Collar Crime Research Consortium, along with several articles and chapters exploring the regulation of corporate crime. His current research, funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, explores the growing international interest in corporate criminal liability, with particular focus on the criminalization of safety crimes.
