Moving to an Independent Wrongful Conviction Review Process
On December 13, 2019, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau sent an official mandate letter to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General, David Lametti. In this letter, the establishment of an independent Criminal Case Review Commission was listed as a top priority of Canada’s current federal government.
